This session presents a simplified, systematic approach to shade selection for both anterior and posterior single-shade restorations, based on three primary shade categories (Bright, Natural, and Warm) aligned with the classical VITA shade guide.
The discussion will examine the role of material opacity and translucency in achieving esthetic integration with surrounding dentition. In particular, the adaptive optical behavior of Filtek Easy Match will be considered, with emphasis on its capacity to provide enamel-like translucency at critical regions such as the bevel and incisal edge. This property may reduce or eliminate the need for additional masking materials (e.g., blockers or opaquers) in anterior restorations.
